The 2008 HSC results were outstanding and placed the school as the top ranking comprehensive, coeducational, public school in mathematics in NSW and third comprehensive coeducational public school overall. We are very proud of our students who have worked to achieve their personal best.
We had an increase in the number of students in the merit lists for achieving band 6 results across a range of courses. Two students achieved All Round Excellence Awards for achieving Band 6 in 10 or more units of study. These students were Matthew Clarke with a University Admissions Index of 99.85 (also 12th in NSW in Advanced English) and Quan (Richard) Gu with a UAI of 99.45. Richard had accelerated in mathematics Extension 1 and 2 in 2007.
In addition Bin (Shelley) Su achieved a UAI of 99.15.
Students achieved band 6 results across all faculty areas and I would like to thank the dedicated teaching and support staff who have helped to make this happen for our students.
Congratulations to the class of 2008 on these excellent results!
