Student Representative Council (SRC)

Students are able to gain leadership skills from year 7 onwards through the Student Representative Council. Students from year 7 – 11 are elected to represent their peers in decision making activities within the school. It is an opportunity to be active in participatory democracy within the school and to make a difference to the learning experiences and physical settings in which they and their peers learn.

Through their involvement in SRC, House Captains (year 11) and Prefects and School Captains (Year 12), students gain an insight into active citizenship and are able to develop their leadership skills.

The SRC members are in direct contact with their fellow students during Think Tank Thursday – when they lead discussions and seek feedback from their peers during this specially allocated time within the school timetable. They are also involved in fundraising and charity work and play a vital role in the life of the school because of the activities they organize which can involve all members of the school community.
