Ken Evanoff & Gerald Steinmann - Conductors

39 members of the KHHS band travelled to Rotorua in New Zealand during the July school holidays to take part in the internationally acclaimed Rhapsody Rotorua Band Festival. There they performed at the festival, as well as at local schools, shopping malls and, on a number of occasions, at the Rotorua Convention Centre. our band members had a wonderful time and enjoyed a little R & R in amongst all the hard work as the photos tell.

Requirements of Membership

Band Rehearsal and Times
Concert Band: Tuesday & Thursday 7:40 - 8:45am
Stage Band: Tuesday 2:30 - 3:30pm

Attendance
Attendance is required at all rehearsals and performances.
We realise there will be times when attendance will not be possible, through situations such as illness or circumstances beyond the student’s control.
However, excuses such as working late on an assignment or foreseeable events such as work commitments will not be accepted.

Lateness Rehearsals will start and end on time.
The roll will be taken at the start of each session warm-up and any student arriving late must first report to the conductor.

Conduct
Our band program is recognised and respected throughout the school and community.
Previous members have contributed to and built on this fantastic reputation, both locally and overseas, and current members must ensure it is maintained.
Good conduct is expected at all times, whether at rehearsals or performances.

Uniform and Prices
Dress band shirt, black tailored pants and black leather shoes and socks.
Band shirts can be ordered on registration night for $35 and should take only a few weeks to arrive.

Private Lessons
Private lessons bring an obvious benefit, both to music students and the band as a whole, and should be undertaken each week.
School tutorials are not considered to be lessons.

Tutorials
Students from each band section will receive five tutorials a term - times and dates will be advised.
